About

Hello! I have been teaching composition and literature courses for over 25years, and I have been teaching at Moorpark Community College as English faculty and Writing Center Co-Coordinator for many of those years.  I have an English B.A. with a minor in International Relations from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and an MA in Rhetoric and Composition from California State University, Northridge.  I recently completed my doctorate in Education, with a research focus on tutoring in the community college. Besides hiking, reading, and spending time with my family and friends, I also enjoy traveling.

In 2025 I went on a service learning trip to Uganda with MC students and staff. We worked at a school that serves vulnerable children as well as the community, providing education and safe dormitories. In 2018 I participated in Moorpark College Educational Travel program, taking MC students to Edinburgh, London and Dublin. I hope we can continue this studying and service learning with travel soon!
